A day with a new London Friend

On Friday, I spent the day with the fabulous Elizabeth, an acquaintence from Marquette, looking at tiny, expensive, posh flats in south London and visiting crazy property agents in search of a new home for myself and John. It is hard work, and I couldnt have done it without Elizabeth... she guided me around the neighborhood, cooked me lunch, let me use her phone, her internet, and most importantly she showed me a building that looks like a dinosaur...I will never forget it. At the end of the day I had three appointments to see apartments and Elizabeth sent me home with a delicious chocolate cake and a bottle of wine from she and her husband Will.
On Saturday we were stood up by a property agent in the morning, but we met with an amazing woman in the afternoon. She is an American from Maine who moved to London about 40 years ago. She is a successful jewelry artist and has a lovely lower flat avaialable in her gorgeous georgian style home in Chelsea. Hopefully it will be our new home by the beginning of this week. We celebrated our find with a pint and a gigantic glass of wine.
