i love greenwich

we each cannot say it enough. "i love Greenwich." Today we arose, no hotel breakfast, and scurried off into a lil slice of heaven called Greenwhich in search of some groceries. Without trouble we found a somerfields store got some bread, peanut butter, jelly, crisps and a giant cadbury chocolate caramel bar. I must say with our amazing London radar we always seem to happen upon wherever we need to be, but we did pick up an essential London A-Z guide just in case. Americans would be surprised to find that Cadbury is a major chocolatier over here...there is entire candy machines of Cadbury varities and i must say they make a lot better things than Cadbury Eggs. So with lunch in hand we strolled through the market streets where Cassie got a cappacciuno and some extra wooden stir sticks for spreading our PBJ. We ate lunch in the shade on the green behind the National Maritime Musuem formerly the Queen's House. Then we hiked the steep hill to the Royal Observatory home to the atomic clock which sets our Greenwich mean time. From atop the hill John took today's photo...just beautiful and you can see the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf in the background and the park looks huge, but it is actually at least 3 times bigger than that with a few cafe's, an ice cream shop, and gorgeous flower gardens tucked in its corners.
We relunctantly left our Greenwich to come home to get a jump start on the work week ahead of us. Monday starts our devoted efforts to the job hunt.
