could've broken a pedometer today.

we were all over the city today
first we got on the tube which was going in a small circle route but we didnt realize it until we were suddenly back at where we started (anyone could have made that mistake, right?). Once we got on the right train we were quickly in the city by the london bridge. After a short uncharted walk we fell into Brick Lane where there's loads of ethnic food, artsy people and boutique shopping. Cassie got cranky...she needed to be fed...so we sat and ate in a fun lil' alleyway market shared with an art and design college. Cassie successfully resisted the temptation of the fashionista storefronts and from Brick Lane we walked through the area 'Shoreditch' in the 'burra' of Hackney and i must say it was quite a ditch, but there were some funky streets mixed in with the abandoned ones. We hopped the tube to crazy Camden Town where we exited the train station to a street of people packed like sardines. Moving slowly in one direction, there was never ending street vendors and plenty of XL purple mohawks. We found a plot of green space by a small river among the punks and cool kids and watched the canal house boats move through the water locks. Blindly we followed this river/canal walking about three miles from crazy Camden Town and suprizingly ended up in lovely Islington (Home of Highbury Football Statium and Arsenal Football Club).
ahh... islington we could really end up living there. We spent a few hours walking around Islington...through the leafy green streets of the neighborhoods with beautiful picturesque flats in a row and up (and down) the high street of shops and restaurants. After 6 hours of walking the streets we needed a refreshing beverage. With the remembrance of a delicious smoothie from a Cafe Nero on our vacation here in March, we were on a train traveling across the entire city into Kensington for a fruity treat.
although refreshed our feet had had enough and we headed home...zzz (but not before having some chips and brown sauce)...
