Goodbye US, Hello UK

Day #1
After last minute packing, Cassie drinking a beer in the middle of the day, and John loosing the keys to the rental car in the trunk, we finally made it to Chicago's O'Hare international airport to start our journey... we boarded our plane only to be delayed, due to weather, which left us to sit on the runway for an hour and a half. Eight hours later we were looking at the sheep grazing beside the runway in Dublin, Ireland. We made our way through immigration without a second look, exchanged some money, and found our new connection flight since we missed the original one due to the delay. We finally arrived in London about 2pm on Wednesday. We grabbed a taxi since lugging four bags with a total weight of around 250 lbs on the Tube seemed like a bad idea. Our taxi/racecar driver got lost or should I say we took the "Scenic Route". We have since realized that a taxi trip from London Heathrow's airport to our Docklands Hotel is equivalent to two one-way tickets to Milan from London. Our hotel is nice, the bathroom looks like some kind of space pod but overall it is very comfortable. Next to the Hotel is the Victoria Pub... After a long day of travel, nothing sounded better than a "cellar" temperature pint of Bitters at the pub. After a pint, we unpacked, got internet (and with a little "magic" got both our computers and VOIP phone working under one account... there was nothing in the EUA that said we couldn't :) and went to bed....

BTW: After Cassie wrote the following about our day one... I hijacked this blog entry and she's now sulking in our space pod bathroom:
Arrived in London around 2pm
took a race car/taxi ride across the entire city,
got ourselves each a pint of bitters and a meal,
set up our room, the internet and phone,
(john is a genuis for getting it all to work)
then off to bed (it was a long day of travel)
