looking for green space

We have spent a bit of time away from our web journal lately. All apologies to our devoted readers. So let us catch up a bit...
We are both loving London and having a great time. Occassionally we have to stop and think how amazing it is that we live here. John's job continues to send him throughout the city as he consults at some very interesting and important companies. I have noticed that he is more and more comfortable using brit lingo every day. Cassie has just found out that one of her greeting cards will be featured in Southern Accents magazine (Hurray for Tiara Designs!)
In the past month or so we have visited the Science Museum, explored some beautiful London Parks, found the Texas Embassy and chosen a rowing club to join. We begin indoor training for the rowing club next wednesday. Hopefully they will whip us into shape because we will be rowing the River Thames by mid September. The Science Mesuem is one of the many free museums in London and John took the day off so that we had plenty of time to explore. We got a little over excited about the clock exhibit...but the mechanics involved are amazing. Check out the smallest pocket watch in our picture gallery. Cassie obsessed over it and claims its less than 1/4 the size of a penny.
The three parks we stumbled into as we explored our city were Bishops Park, Holland Park, and Hyde Park. Bishops Park was along the river in south west london...and we really liked how peaceful it was. There were only a few people at a tiny little kiosque where we stopped for coffee and some dog walkers on the gorgeous greens. However, we discovered it backs up to the Fulham Football Stadium, which must cause craziness on game nights. Holland Park was fantastic as well, as it was very diverse. There was a japanese Kyoto Garden, tree lined paths, open greens and then a woods where you felt miles away from any major city. This past Sunday night we craved fajitas and it was the night we found ourselves the Texas Embassy (simply a tex mex restaurant across town) and the night we discovered the chairs in Hyde park are not free.
